2011 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 – Steeda Springs, Sways, Panhard Bar, Lower Control Arms, and Shifter

Today we had the pleasure of working on this 2011 5.0 Mustang again. Now that its got a few more ponies under the hood, it was time to get it to grip better and shifter better. To do this we look toward Steeda. We installed there Sport Springs, front and rear sway bars w/ upgraded mounts, adjustable panhard bar, billet lower control arms, and a Tri-Ax shifter. We removed the factory struts and once removed they were taken apart to install the new springs. Once the new springs were installed the strut assemblies could be reinstalled. With that done the front sway bar can be installed. To do this the factory skid plate and bracing has to be removed to get the old one out and the new one in. With that done it was time to move to the back of the car. The lower control arms were next. After taking about the new control arms to be completely greased they could be installed. Once that was done the springs and panhard bar were next. With that done the new rear sway bar could be installed with the new billet end links. With the suspension done and adjusted we could move onto the shifter. The 2011 Mustangs now come with a 6 speed transmission with a new style of shifter. After removing some bushings under the car the console has to come apart to get the old shifter out and the new one in. With the console apart the old shifter comes out and the new one is bolted into place. With that done the bushings under the car can be reinstalled and the console back together. Now it’s ready for the street! Also be sure to check out the cool shop photos and be sure to check back tomorrow for an upcoming SRT8 install!
