2012 Mustang GT 5.0 – Edelbrock Supercharger Install – Completed

Well the last couple days we’ve had more work on the new 5.0s This black beauty is getting the new already CARB legal Edelbrock supercharger. To get started on this project, we started off by removing the factory intake, intake manifold, and bumper to give us a bit of room. With all that out of the way it was time to start bolting on some of the new stuff. First went the heat exchanger. With that installed we could plumb and wire the new intercooler pump. With that out of the way we can work on the new pulley system. With the tensioner relocated and some new idlers installed. With that done, as instructed in the manuals, the factory plugs are regapped tighter to prevent spark blowout. Now it was time for the blower! After carefully getting it aligned, the new blower was put into place. Now the fuel system, belt, throttle body, and intake can all be reinstalled. Some other installs on this thing was a new GT500 rear bumper guard and maximum motorsports panhard bar to recenter the axle. With that all done, it was time to put the new tune on it and put it on the dyno. Well, we started with a 347rwhp baseline and ended up with 475rwhp at 6psi! Amazing increase on a safe 6psi boost level. After some measuring another thing we were able to add back onto this car was a strut tower brace that is used on the Boss 302 manages to clear the supercharger perfectly. Be sure to check out the dyno pull and stay tuned for more installs by RPMM!
